Throughout the evening, Moscow's aerial assaults have led to blackouts in large parts of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.
A number of civilians were hurt while residents in eastern neighborhoods were plunged into darkness and dealt with disruption to water supplies, as stated by local authorities.
At the same time, a seven-year-old child was fatally injured in a distinct assault in the Zaporizhzhia region in the country's south-east, as reported by area administrators.
Moscow has increased attacks on electrical systems over recent weeks, while the country's government has called for "concrete actions" from international partners to exert influence on Russia.
"The necessity is not superficial actions but strong steps - from the US, the EU and the major economies - in providing air defence systems and enforcing penalties," mentioned in a social media post.
Authorities reported that 450 drones and more than 30 projectiles attacked Ukraine's energy infrastructure, describing such strikes as "strategic and deliberate" and against "essential services" as temperatures become colder.
Government representatives said Moscow was "conducting extensive attacks" and repair crews were laboring to fix the damage.

Five out of the nine people wounded in the strikes on the capital have been taken to hospital, as confirmed by city authorities.
Area administrators said the metropolitan region experienced heavy assaults throughout the evening. A seven-year-old child lost their life and several individuals were wounded.
The attacks succeed nights of air raids in the area, parts of which remain under the control of Russian forces.
All of Ukraine is in a state of readiness for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are harder to spot.
Authorities told reporters that Russia was deliberately attempting to demolish the electrical infrastructure, with strikes already impacting gas facilities.
He said utility staff and government agencies were preparing for more assaults.
